A note from Tony D with Folsom Lake college….
Hi Everyone, I look forward to seeing you at the meeting. Here is some information:
Success Story at George Washington Carver School of Arts and Science
On Tuesday, May 21, 2019, I had the opportunity to guide and assist 2 groups of senior students (40 total students) for a total of two hours with 20 students in each session, in the area of resume preparation and writing. Some of the topics included seeking public sector type employment and continuing a higher level of education, such as attending Folsom Lake College, which has a campus nearby in Ranch Cordova.
A special recognition to Principal Allegra Alessandri, Ed.D.for helping to coordinate this event and allowing me on the school’s prestigious campus.
The students acknowledge the importance of this information and asked many interesting questions regarding their careers and future. The students learned how to “match” their experience and education to the various job descriptions for a professional looking resume. Also, the students reflected on their strengths, such as communication skills and completing tasks timely, that could benefit a future employer.
I heard the students say the information was “awesome,” as handouts were shared.
This event should be scheduled regularly to share the same information with other seniors.
Thanks for the opportunity to help the students. Tony D.
Thanks, Tony Digaetano
